The 4th Annual Mike Schultz Skydiving Skills Fun MeetEvents | Formations | Scoring and Awards
Scoring and Awards
1. Formation Skydiving Exits (FSE-4)(2 jumps; in aircraft video/stills)
2. Speed Formation/Formation Skydiving (SF/FS)(2 jumps; air-air video) a.Speed Formation segment: You have 20 seconds to score points, starting with any jumper release of the aircraft. The star is the first formation for both these dives so you get two shots at that mutha! The mandatory inside and outside center link can be any one or two-handed grip either to form the first point, or not, as grip switching is allowed. AT LEAST ONE GRIP must stay intact for the formation to qualify for points in this segment. So if the “base” funnels, don’t let go!
b.Formation Skydiving segment: Starts after exit formation is correctly built, or after 20 seconds if unable to qualify for speed formation points, or after you go unwittingly to the second point without a correct exit formation. Forty seconds total working time from first jumper off the plane. One point for every correctly built formation. Must have proper sequence and clear break between points. Everybody on, everybody off. No grip switching. Why crawl and climb when you can fly?
3. Stack-out Team Accuracy (TA)(2 jumps; ground judging)
Points will be shaved from each category by the esteemed panel of judges and hecklers, with unsafe acts such as “red-light” release, cornfield or RW landings, near collisions, high stalls, and/or exposed bone, costing big deductions. 4. Individual Accuracy (IA)(6 jumps, landings from all previous jumps; ground judging) You get what you get on pilot spots for the 4 high jumps. We will consider allowing a team to exit other than first if it would mean hosing the team or other jumpers. You gotta go on the green light on those. The concentric 10-meter burned grass rings are valued at 10 points in the center (including the peas), with subsequent rings worth 8, 6, 4, and 2. Single point deduction for anything not considered a standing landing. First foot down counts in that ring; and no fly-by stabbing at the center in a long swoop allowed. Extra points for a reserve landing in the rings, but you better have a scary malfunction to show for it. Practice your stacking on these jumps so you can nail the team event! 5. Surprise Events and Pop-Quiz (BSE)(what do you expect; it’s a surprise!) 6. Award Categories:a.Team Overall: (Nameplates on the plaque)
b.Team Accuracy: (Nameplates on the plaque)
c.Individual Accuracy: Gold, Silver, Bronze medals (sweet, huh?)
d.Honorable Mention: Best SF/FS, Best Exit, Best all-around Team Stack, Best Advanced, Novice, and Intermediate. © Skydive Delmarva, Inc. |
